This morning I guarded the city, the city that hosts me, the city I now call home. In such tumultuous times it felt important to do so, to look after my environment, to care for those that I know and those I’ll never know. As I perceived the golden rays on the reflection of La Defense and the silhouettes of the chimneys’ smoke, the wind lifted and all the windmills of the garden activated. Birds were not afraid of me. I had become part of the landscape, we were one.
As the light kept on increasing, the gardens of Saint-Ouen revealed themselves to me, we became one. I guarded the city this morning, and in return it guarded me. I was able to feel a deep connection and gain perspective on myself. My silhouette disappeared, fading into the landscape, and this me became one.
Thank you for facilitating this space and giving the opportunity to live a poetic moment in such hectic times.
